Who we are

Talent Trust was formed in Jersey (Channel Islands) in 1990 with the primary aim of providing funds for the purpose of feeding children in any part of the world suffering from malnutrition. At present, Talent’s area of operation and focus is The Philippines, where for the past 25 years the charity has been establishing relationships with local Filipino communities and developing Feeding Centres within them.

Our Feeding centres

The Talent Feeding Centres, on the island of Negros, are run by volunteers who work under the supervision of a local Filipino couple who have overseen the work since its inception. The Trust provides one meal a day to 25 children per centre who meet the following criteria :-

  • Aged between 1 – 12 years old
  • Suffer from 1st – 3rd degree malnutrition
  • Live in a depressed squatter area

The children are monitored regularly and each centre is visited weekly by a representative of the Trust (themself a beneficiary of Talent) to address any issues and support and encourage the leaders.

From 2000 to 2015 the feeding programme has served in excess of 1.5 million meals to malnurished children who would normally go without.

other Projects

Other livelihood projects over the years have included sewing machines, piglets, and the purchase of an area of rice growing land.

Our education programme has seen us supporting teenagers through courses including social care, education, criminology, IT and nursing.

Although primarily focussed in The Philippines, Talent has also linked up from time to time with other organisations working in Europe and Somalia.
